Which qualification would suit me best?

The following self-test will help you to determine the level of qualification from the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) that is appropriate for you.

  1. Please read through and answer the following six questions. Even though the questions are very general, think about them in relation to the work you currently do or have done in the sport and recreation industry.
  2. When you have completed all of the questions please click on the "Submit" button.
  3. Based on the answers that you have submitted, an appropriate qualification will be recommended
1. Which of the following best describes your usual daily activities in your workplace?
I am required to do a number of tasks and I follow directions on how to do them.
I am required to do a wide range of tasks or processes where discretion or judgement is required.
I am usually involved in technical and/or management operations and I use my theoretical knowledge in a wide variety of situations.

2. Which of the following best describes your skills and their use in your workplace?
I have a number of practical skills that I use in my daily activities.
I have a broad range of well-developed skills that I use in different areas.
I have an extensive range of well-developed skills that enable me to improve the way things are done.

3. Which of the following best describes your responsibilities in your workplace?
I take responsibility for the quality of my own work, but my supervisor generally reviews my work.
I am responsible for the quality of my own work, and I sometimes have responsibility for other people.
I have broad responsibility for the work of other people in my workplace.

4. Which of the following best describes the level of supervision that is required in your workplace?
I generally work under supervision, but I sometimes have to make choices on how I do things.
I often work without supervision and need to use my own judgement and discretion.
I work without supervision and I am required to supervise other people in my workplace.

5. Which of the following best describes how you deal with information in your workplace?
I am required obtain and record information from a variety of different sources.
I am required to interpret available information using my own judgement in deciding what it means and how to deal with it.
I am required to identify, analyse and evaluate information from a wide variety of different sources.

6. Which of the following best describes how you deal with problems in your workplace?
I generally have to deal with a few predictable problems, to which I apply known solutions.
I generally have to deal with a wide variety of predictable problems, to which I apply known solutions.
I generally have to deal with a range of unpredictable problems to which I apply known solutions or I am required to find an appropriate solution.
