Aquatic Lifesaving

The lifesaving department will be holding a cocktail function at the beginning of May 2009 to thank members for their efforts, and contributing their time to the Royal Lifesaving Society. More details will be released shortly.

During 2009 there will be compulsory Professional Development sessions for all Bronze Medallion Examiners. These dates will be released later in the year, and will cover regional locations as well as a number of sessions within the metropolitan area. Professional Development sessions are a fantastic opportunity to update skills and moderate training delivery - not to mention an opportunity to network with other Examiners!

Event First Aid

Formerly known asEvent Safety, the new Rescue and Revive program has recently undertaken some considerable changes. A new vehicle has joined the fleet, thanks to the assistance of the John Roberts Trust. Uniform standards have increaseed and advanced staff training has been conducted, leading to a more recognisable, professional first aid service.

The service has recently taken on another two major event managers which will see Royal Life Saving providing a high level of event first aid to a further 40,000 people in Western Australia each year. This is an exciting time for the Rescue and Revive program and we look forward to what the future holds.
